DOT Tiedown is a
vertically integrated manufacturer of webbing and cargo
control products in use around the world. Today DOT Tiedown
supplies products into the trucking, tent, ATV &
motorcycle industries, as well as the entertainment, OEM, and
military arenas. DOT Tiedown and its sister company,
ACLAirshop, are the world largest aviation cargo control
supplier and a premier cargo control manufacturer for USA made
standard and private label products.
History
DOT
Tiedown & Lifting Equipment, Inc. was
conceived in 1996 just outside of Greenville SC. Through the
vision of Anthony Morgan, an innovative entrepreneur, DOT
Tiedown was created to fill the needs of companies requiring
cargo control products on land, sea, or air.
Under
Morgan, DOT thrived and surpassed the standard ISO
classification for manufacturers in becoming a Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) approved manufacturing
facility. As a world class producer of webbing, cargo nets, and tie downs,
DOT Tiedown grew to supply products to some of the most
respected truck parts distributors and manufacturers in the US
while also providing custom products to the largest aviation
cargo control supply company in the world.
By June of
2001 DOT Tiedown had made a mark in the aviation industry
proving that quality, service, and pride is truly how to
succeed. DOT Tiedown and its sister company, Airline Container
Leasing, made such great impression that the multi-billion
dollar company Vinci, along with Worldwide Flight Services
(WFS), purchased the company as a manufacturing investment and
kept Morgan on as the managing CEO.
In late 2003
Morgan decided to pursue other areas of interest and retired
from DOT Tiedown. Vinci and WFS managed the US locations in
New York, Miami, Chicago, and the headquarters in Easley, SC.
In a change of events, Vinci and WFS chose to back out of the
manufacturing arena and return into the service industry where
they excelled and a group of investors along with Morgan
purchased both DOT Tiedown and Airline Container Leasing in
2005.
In 2007 DOT Tiedown and Airline
Container Leasing (ACL) added another company to the mix with
the addition of Airshop Inc., located in Amsterdam. The
companies collectively work together as DOT Tiedown and
ACLAirshop. As a valued component, DOT Tiedown is able to
provide manufactured goods and services to ACLAirshop at
stocking locations in any major airport around the world.
